"The Haka was a dance that the ancient warrors of the Mauri people would preform before battle. As modern time came and less and less fighting happened. It was turned into a dance to celebrate and honor loved ones passed and living. At the end, the men are "connecting" where they touch forehead and nose is called a Hongi (pronounced Ho-nee) it is a greeting of honor. It translated to the "breath of life" . In Mauri religion. When the God of life created woman, he touched his forhead and nose to hers and breathed life in to her. That is why they greet and bond like that."
